Ever since I started comping again last August, I have heard this statement over and over again.
To be honest it is simply not true.
Yes, I do win a lot of things but I also enter hundreds and hundreds of competitions and I probably win about 0.000001% of all of the competitions I enter.
Here’s a screenshot to prove it:
This is a screenshot from my favourite website for comping – Loquax.co.uk. Loquax is a free to use website where users post competitions they find so other users can use it too, I’ve been using the website since 2008 and find it really easy to use. I’ll write another post about other comping websites I like to use in another post.
People seem to think that I automatically win pretty much all of the competitions I enter and once again, it’s simply not true. The luckiest people are those who work the hardest.
Anyway, as you can see from the above screenshot I have already entered 236 competitions on Loquax this month and this doesn’t include the ones that weren’t recorded (occasionally the tracker doesn’t work), the ones that I entered after finding about them on social media and also the ones I’ve entered on other websites. All in all I reckon I’ve probably entered about 360 competitions so far this month and I will enter hundreds more before the month ends, my aim is to try and do about 50 a day if I have the time.
As the saying goes you have ‘to be in it to win it’ and that is why I enter so many. So many people complain that they never win anything. To which I respond: but do you enter any competitions and they respond with a big fat no. Well there’s your answer. Some people are fortunate to enter one competition and win it, but many of us aren’t and therefore that’s why I recommend entering more as then you have a higher chance of winning.
There’s no hard and fast way to winning, some people enter very few competitions in comparison to others and win lots and others enter lots and don’t win anything or not as much in comparison. There isn’t a set amount of competitions to enter a month in order to guarantee a prize as at the end of the day everyone has an equal chance of winning the prize and therefore if you really want to stand a chance of winning I’d say enter as many as you can.
Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Hi Chloe, great post.
I get the same thing as well! Why do you always win everything? The truth is I win very little in comparison to the amount I enter. The amount of effort that can go into regular comping not to mention creative comps is unreal (yet so addictive and rewarding).

I get the same – I tell people how to enter and then I get ahhh but I bet you get loads of phone calls selling you stuff and things
Great idea, well done x
well done chloe, keep going you’ll go far.
Thank you very much!
